About
I am a software engineer at Netskope. I work on API-based data protection products that monitor enterprise SaaS activity and apply security policies to catch unauthorized access and fix security incidents.
I grew up in Jaipur. I got my first computer in 2008 after a hunger strike. I mostly played borrowed video games on it. I had no one around me (or the Internet) who could show me what else computers could do.
That changed when I joined NIT Calicut for a degree in computer science. I discovered Linux and got deep into system administration: ricing, drivers, building kernels. I was selected to manage the Software Systems Lab and eventually led the entire lab infrastructure.
I started this blog in 2016 on WordPress. It has moved through Jekyll, Pelican, Hugo, Next.js, and now lives on Astro.
I began my career at Cisco in 2018, working on intrusion detection and firewall monitoring. I joined Netskope in 2022. You can read about the work I have done on the work page.
Outside of work, I build things that solve problems I have and run a small homelab. You can see what I am up to on the now page.
I write on this site to clarify my own thinking. Most posts start as notes to myself after debugging something. Writing forces me to check if I actually understand the thing. You can browse everything on the notes page.
